The Garden

Annually, children at Valley school are very busy during the spring/summer months planting many different vegetables, fruit and flowers. We’ve had a very successful produce every season with plenty of crops. It is a pleasure seeing the garden full and colorful. We collect the produce, and use them in our cooking lessons as fresh ingredients. Some of the fruit and vegetables left over is sold at our parents.

Sowing seeds and watching them grow is very enjoyable. It teaches the children about self sufficiency and sustainability, as well as healthy eating. We even manage to use the gardening in maths lessons to bring the subject alive.

Children enjoy exploring our garden, and finding different animals , birds, frogs, insects and butterflies.
